Word Highlighter is a Chrome extension that highlights user-configured words and phrases on web pages. This policy explains how the extension handles your data.

Data We Collect

Word Highlighter does not collect any personal data. Specifically:

• We do not collect names, email addresses, or any personally identifiable information.
• We do not track your browsing history or the pages you visit.
• We do not record the words or phrases you configure.
• We do not use analytics, telemetry, or crash reporting services.

Local Storage Only

The only data stored by this extension is the list of words and their highlight colors that you explicitly configure. This data is stored exclusively on your device using chrome.storage.local and never leaves your browser.

No Internet Connections

Word Highlighter makes zero network requests. There are no calls to external servers, APIs, CDNs, or any remote services. All code, styles, and assets are bundled locally inside the extension.

Permissions

The extension requests the following Chrome permissions:

• storage — to save your word list locally on your device.
• activeTab — to apply highlights on the currently active tab when you interact with the popup.
• scripting — to inject the highlighting script into web pages.

These permissions are used solely to provide the highlighting functionality.

Third Parties

We do not share any data with third parties because we do not collect any data in the first place.
